What is a Fireguard for Shelters Certification?
In New York City (NYC), all public shelters and similar dwelling places need a designated Fireguard on site at all times. The F02 certificate allows people to work as a Fireguard in such locations, ensuring safety measures are met and preventing fire incidents. It’s typically issued by the FDNY (Fire Department of New York) after completing certain training courses and passing an exam.
How many questions are on it?
Well, when I took it last year there were 30 multiple-choice questions that needed answers in 45 minutes. Some may find that slightly daunting or intimidating.
So how does one prepare for this exam?
For starters, make sure you understand the format of this test so you can structure your studying accordingly. Emergencies Management along with their subtopics like Sheltering Families/Staff etc.. Gather copies of relevant manuals from reputable sources such as FDNY’s site then use them as study materials alongside practicing answering mock questions available in various places online.
